Introduction to the Mathoura Library

The Mathoura branch of the Central Murray Regional Library is located within the Mathoura Visitor & Business Centre, south of Deniliquin on the Cobb Highway.

 

Location and appearance

The Mathoura Visitor & Business Centre is set in a picturesque park on the main highway (Cobb Hwy) that passes through the Mathoura township. There is ample car and bus parking, disabled access to the centre and disabled toilets located both inside and outside the centre. The striking, architect designed building won the best Small Commercial Project award at the 2003 regional awards for the Housing Industry Association.

Staff and volunteers

The Centre has two full time staff members (Manager & Assistant Manager), one casual staff and twenty volunteers; all from a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. The volunteers have enabled the Centre to be open 7 days a week, including public holidays.

 

Community engagement

Mathoura Visitor & Business Centre is managed by Murray Shire Council. The centre runs youth activities, group tours, training and works collaboratively with local events committees, job network providers and registered training companies. A close relationship is maintained with Chamber of Commerce, Business Enterprise Centre and Lead On.

Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm
